Take a look at another example of the explosive power of Sonny Bill William’s big left shoulder. It also has some cool music and a great angle.

Michael Wayman vs Daniel Conn

Posted by Russ  Published in Videos

Some people really complain when fights break out in the NRL - it breaks up the flow of the game, players get injured, it sets a bad example… I love fights in football. It brings back memories of the pinacle of rugby league when players were men, and fights started all the time.

For anyone who has ever played Rugby League, they have probably been in a fight. There are several reasons for this:

  1. Rugby League is a very aggressive game and things can boil over
  2. Some people are bad sports or are simply annoying
  3. Some people actually try to injure your team mates

This video represents a fight between Wayman and Conn in the Titans vs Raiders game. You can see how quickly it escalates.

Josh Perry vs Ben Ross

Posted by Russ  Published in Videos

The big hits of the NRL seem to be going down the drain as more and more rules are put in place to protect the players. Naturally this is a good thing, but these are professional athletes, and they are tough men. They can handle a little pain. One big hit that is perfectly legal was Josh Perry’s massive tackle on prop Ben Ross.

Ross was concussed, but has come back as strong as ever. Spectacular tackles like this is what makes me come back to Rugby League again and again!

Karmichael Hunt vs Braith Anasta

Posted by Russ  Published in Videos

This would have to be one of the most devastating shoulder charges ever played in rugby league history. Just looking at the way Anasta’s head snaps back causes a grimace in everyone’s faces. I have gained a lot of respect for Braith because he continued playing after he could get his nose to stop bleeding. He also spoke out that the hit was legal, and did not make a big fuss.

This is not a very common thing to do, but his actions speak volumes for his character. Hunt seemed surprised that he could ever pull off a hit of this magnitude. He has never been in trouble before, and it is good that he has been let off without any weeks off. These are the kind of hits that attract spectators from other sports. There is not game as entertaining or spectacular as Rugby League.
